Best Turnout in Years at Mistahiya Music Festival
Mistahiya Music festival organizer Jim Zadorozny said that the attendance was up at this year’s festival. “It was one of the better crowds in recent years, we had close to 600 people attend. The weather stayed good for the most part, there was no smoke, and everyone enjoyed the sunny blue skies on Saturday. We had some excellent performances, including Canadian country singer-songwriter Alee, who was a huge hit with the crowds,” said Zadorozny.
Lakeland Soccer Team Takes Gold
On August 10-12 the U13 Boys Dynamo and U15 Boys Lakeland United teams won gold at Tier 3 Soccer Provincials. Both teams are made up of players from various communities (Vermilion, Bonnyville, St. Paul, Cold Lake, Lac La Biche, Vegreville) throughout the Lakeland Soccer District Association.
Running the 125 km solo Canadian Death Race
The term ‘death race’ sounds extreme doesn’t it…. it would turn most people off.. but there is a small less than 1% of the population out there who sign up to endure hard, painful and suffering challenges. Every year hundreds of racers go to the Canadian Rockies to attempt one of Canada’s toughest ultramarathons.
